The Eye is Lightly’s modern love letter, maybe an email, to material folklore. Material folklore marks elevating one’s treasured objects, transforming things you see and hold into pieces of personal iconography.

For Lightly founder Cindy Lee, drawing faces is a “small obsession” equally mysterious and persistent. A new meaning was understood in teaching her son to do the same: a kinship outlined among traced eyes and humans drawn together. Marking a new direction for Lightly in form and production, the Eye is cast aluminium and is a limited edition.

The Eye regards the other life forces of its shape: sun, moon and the essential unbroken connection of its form. A continuous loop. Observer and person and object are all met with the Eye.
