From ancient script to modern folklore — stories told not in words but in pattern, in the objects we make and the hands they pass through.
Material Folklore marks 20 years of Lightly. The Folklore rug is woven from the stories between humans and culture — folk motif reinterpreted in New Zealand wool, hand-tufted in small editions.
The palette is rooted in the natural world. Sand holds the warmth of early morning light, Butter a soft golden radiance, Chestnut the grounding depth of earth and russet, and our Sienna, one of Lightly's signature colours, the warmth of terracotta and sun-baked clay. Each shade a different way of living with colour, woven into the thread of everyday moments.
Launched at Melbourne Design Week 2026. Limited to ten pieces per colourway.
